Proulx Oil & Propane Supports the Equine Protection of North America
November 9, 2009
Proulx Oil & Propane, Newmarket, New Hampshire, is proud to announce their support of the Equine Protection of North America (EPONA). EPONA is a non-profit organization based in Epping, NH, providing care and rehabilitation for abused and neglected horses. Recently EPONA has acquired many new animals and with the winter months coming, it proves increasingly difficult to keep them all cared for. Maine and New Hampshire agriculture officials say the economic downturn is putting a greater deal of pressure on state and nonprofit horse rescue operations to care for a growing number of horses. Horse owners have been feeling the effects of the economy and are calling EPONA on a daily basis looking to relinquish ownership of their horses. EPONA esitmates that it costs approximately $80,000 per year to operate the facility and care for the horses. Proulx Oil & Propane has responded to their need and generously donated the liquid propane to EPONA needed for their barn heat in an effort to support this local organization in a time of need. To learn more about EPONA's adoptable horses visit http://www.eponarescue.org/residents.html.
